2. Website access and security
Our server infrastructure processes technically required data such as IP address, time, requested address, status code, transferred volume, browser and operating-system information. We use it to provide RouMeGo securely, diagnose faults and prevent abuse under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Security logs are kept only as long as operational, diagnostic and security purposes require.
3. Account and sign-in
We process email address, display name, language, time zone, sign-in methods, verification and session data. When Google sign-in is used, we receive the identifier and profile/email details released by Google. The basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and, for security, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Route planning, navigation and location
With device permission, RouMeGo processes current location, accuracy, movement and speed for start points, navigation, progress, deviations and discoveries. Map centre is never treated as device location. Plans may be linked to your account and an actual track is processed only when used. Permissions can be withdrawn in the browser or operating system. Bases are Article 6(1)(b) and, for optional functions, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
5. Saved content and discoveries
At your request we store preferences, places, routes, trips, history, POI views and confirmed discoveries. Discovery records contain required POI and evidence information; normal logs do not contain a complete historical GPS track. The basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
6. Community photos
For a voluntary photo we process image, POI assignment, author/display name, licence, moderation state and technical upload data. Images are reviewed and reprocessed; embedded EXIF and GPS metadata are removed. A pseudonym is sufficient; a real name is not required. Photo or author reports contain the photo ID, reason and a pseudonymous abuse-prevention identifier accessible only to moderation. Hidden authors are stored locally on your device and can be reset. Upload terms apply. Bases are Articles 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR.
7. RouMeGo Pro and Mollie
For Pro we process plan, price, term, status and Mollie customer, payment, mandate and subscription identifiers. Mollie B.V., Keizersgracht 126, 1015 CW Amsterdam, Netherlands, processes card and bank data; RouMeGo does not store it. Bases are Articles 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c) GDPR. See https://www.mollie.com/privacy.
7a. RouMeGo Pro through Google Play
In Android, RouMeGo Pro is billed through Google Play. Google processes payment details under its terms and privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). RouMeGo processes product and base-plan IDs, package name, purchase token, order ID, purchase/expiry times, market, test/acknowledgement status and subscription state. A pseudonymous account ID binds the purchase to your RouMeGo account. Our server verifies it through the Google Play Developer API, acknowledges valid purchases and updates the shared Pro entitlement. Authenticated real-time notifications and bounded reconciliation handle renewals, cancellation, expiry, payment issues and refunds. Purchase tokens are encrypted on the server; RouMeGo does not store card or bank details for Play purchases. Bases are Articles 6(1)(b) GDPR for the contract and entitlements, 6(1)(f) for abuse prevention and 6(1)(c) for statutory retention. Manage and cancel the subscription in Google Play; account deletion does not automatically cancel it. Contract, payment and necessary audit evidence is retained only for statutory or still-required settlement and evidentiary purposes.
8. Recipients and third-party content
Data is disclosed only to providers required for hosting, email, authentication or payments, and to authorities where required. POIs may derive from OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. Google and Wikimedia may process data outside the EEA subject to their stated safeguards.
9. Cookies and local storage
RouMeGo uses necessary session/security cookies and local storage for language, interface, planning and navigation. It uses no advertising, marketing or analytics tracking. Necessary storage relies on section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; processing uses the bases above.
10. Retention
Account data and voluntary content are generally retained until deletion or account closure. Active subscriptions must first be terminated. Contract, payment, tax and audit records are retained for statutory periods. Other data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed; backups expire in operational cycles.
11. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may withdraw consent prospectively. Export and deletion are available in the account. Complaints may be made to a supervisory authority, particularly https://www.datenschutz.sachsen.de/.
12. Automated decisions and updates
RouMeGo makes no solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We update this policy when functions, providers or law change.
